About Me
My art is in essence a reflection of my spiritual journey. I confront my own personal issues of joy, pain, love and despair. It is the warrior spirit that seeks resolution to life's struggles so that peace and harmony can be achieved. It is in this contemplative process that an image or vision will come to mind, and it is then that the idea of a painting is born. My paintings are colorful and often reflect my Catholic upbringing, Mexican culture and passionate nature. I express my ideas from a woman's point of view and understanding. During these struggles, there is often a sense of aloneness, which afflicts us all. It is my hope that the viewer will receive some understanding, feel some sense of kinship, and the realization that we are not alone in our journey. -Sylvia Savala, Artist |
